Kukuiula Hawaiian Modern House 



Construction is nearly complete at the DSA designed new Hawaiian Modern house Hale Ike Mala (love of the garden) at Kuikuiula on Kauai island. Dean Sakamoto, FAIA developed this unique place-specific house and site design in collaboration with landscape architect Joel Kurokawa, ASLA of KI Concepts. Kelly Stone Architects is the architect of record and Philpotts is the interior designer.

SHADE and East-West Center Host Public Interest Design Workshop

The PID Workshop on July 7th at the East-West Center was a success! We learned how to apply the SEED Evaluator 4.0 method and certification process to our projects. A BIG MAHALO to Sue Thering of Design Corps, Jeffrey Hou of the University of Washington, and Meril Fujiki of the East-West Center and all who participated.

Naeole Pool House Building Completed

The DSA designed new building at Kamehameha Schools Hawaii Island Campus is now completed. This long awaited facility provides locker/shower facilities and a common lanai space for school and community users of the Naeole Pool Complex at KSH. DSA wishes to thank the KS Facilities Division, KSH staff, RLB project managers and GW Construction.
